How to create discounts?

Follow these steps to create discounts on line items or apply a discount to the entire invoice, ensuring accurate calculations of discounted amounts.

Discounts in InvoiceQuick can be applied in two ways:

  1. Line Item Discount: To apply a discount to a specific line item, locate the item on the invoice and click on Add discount next to it. Choose whether you want to apply a fixed amount or a percentage discount. Enter the discount value, and the discounted amount will be calculated and reflected in the line item.
  2. Total Invoice Discount: If you want to apply a discount to the entire invoice, scroll down to the bottom of the invoice where you see the 'Subtotal' section. Click on Discount entire invoice and enter the fixed amount or percentage discount you wish to apply. The total invoice amount will be adjusted accordingly.


To create discounts on invoices, follow these steps:

  • When creating or editing an invoice, you have the option to apply discounts either on a line item or as a total invoice discount.
  • To discount a specific line item, locate the line item to which you want to apply the discount. Click on Apply discount next to the line item.
  • A dropdown menu will appear, allowing you to select either a fixed amount or a percentage discount. Choose the appropriate option and enter the discount value.
  • The discounted amount will be automatically calculated and reflected in the line item.




If you want to apply a discount to the entire invoice, scroll down to the bottom of the invoice where you see the 'Subtotal' section.
  1. Click on Discount entire invoice located below the subtotal.
  1. Enter the fixed amount or percentage discount you want to apply to the entire invoice.
  2. The discount will be applied, and the total invoice amount will be adjusted accordingly.

Please note that the discount option and line will only appear for you as the invoice creator. Your customer will not see the discount line on their invoices or PDFs unless a discount is actually applied.
