# Invoice activity log

Every invoice keeps a timeline of what happened to it: when it was sent, opened, paid and more.

### See an invoice's activity

- **Web:** open the invoice. The **Invoice activity** panel is on the preview page.
- **App:** open the invoice, tap **More actions**, then **Activity log**. The invoice screen also shows how far it got: **Sent**, **Viewed**, **Paid**.

The app also has a company-wide feed: **Menu** → **All modules** → **Activity**. The website shows activity per invoice only.

### What you'll see

Entries include:

- "Invoice created." and "Invoice sent."
- "Invoice scheduled for sending in …"
- "Invoice marked as sent." and "Invoice restored to draft."
- "Invoice email delivered successfully." and "Invoice email opened first time."
- "Invoice viewed by customer" and "Invoice downloaded by customer."
- "Invoice email bounced." and "Customer marked Invoice as spam."
- "Invoice reminder sent to customer."
- Payments, for example "$100 payment applied to Invoice." and "Invoice paid in full." Payment entries show the payment method.
- "Payment failed." for automatic card payments that didn't go through.
- "Invoice customer changed." and "Estimate converted to Invoice."

Entries use your own invoice title. If you call invoices "Bill", you'll see "Bill sent." On the website, recent entries say "x ago", then a date after 24 hours.

### Good to know

- Your own views don't count as "viewed by customer".
- "Opened" isn't always exact. Some email apps block it, and some security scanners open emails automatically.
- The log is deleted together with the invoice.
- Estimates have the same log under **Estimate activity**.

### FAQ

**I can't find the history in the app.** Open the invoice, tap **More actions**, then **Activity log**. If you see "Could not load activity", tap **Retry**.

**Does the log show how my customer paid?** Yes. Payment entries show the payment method.

**My customer says they never got the invoice.** Look for "delivered" or "bounced" in the log. See Email delivery: tracking, bounces and spam reports.
