# Products and services catalog

Save the things you sell with a set price, so you can add them to invoices and estimates in a few clicks.

### Products or services?

- **Products** are goods.
- **Services** are work you bill for, such as hours or a fixed job.

Both work the same way.

### Open the catalog

- **Web:** **Invoicing** → **Products** or **Services**.
- **App:** **Menu** → **All modules** → **Item Catalog**, then tap **Products** or **Services**.

### Add an item

1. Click **Add new** (app: **Create (+)** → **New product** or **New service**).
2. Fill in: 
     - **Name** (required)
     - **Description**
     - **Price**
     - **Quantity**: the quantity filled in when you add it
     - **Unit**, such as kg, h or l (up to 12 characters)
     - **Taxes**
     - **Income account**
3. Save.

You can also create an item from the invoice editor with **Create product** or **Create service**. It's saved to your catalog when you click **Save** in that box. In the app, every new line you type on an invoice is saved to the catalog.

### Edit or remove an item

Click or tap the item to edit it. To remove it, use the row menu (app: hold the row → **Delete**).

Removing is permanent. Invoices that already use the item keep their lines.

### Find items

Search by name. On the website you can filter by taxes. In the app you can filter by price, quantity, income account and tax.

### Import a list

Go to **Settings** → **Import/Export** on the website to import products or services from a file.

### FAQ

**I changed a price. Do my old invoices change?** No. Invoices and recurring invoices keep the lines they have. Update recurring invoices one by one (see *Edit a recurring invoice*).

**Can team members use the catalog?** Yes. They can view, add and edit items, but not remove them.

**I don't want every line saved as a product.** New lines are saved to your catalog: in the app automatically, and on the website when you save a new product or service. You can remove ones you don't need from the catalog. Your invoices keep them.
