# Reports: what each one shows

Reports show what you invoiced, collected and spent over a period. Open them from **Reports** in the sidebar (app: **Menu** → **Reports**).

If your plan doesn't include reports, the website opens the upgrade page and the app shows a banner.

### The six reports

**Business overview**

- **Total invoiced:** per customer, the number of invoices, total invoiced and amount paid in the period.
- **Profit and loss:** sales, cost of goods sold, expenses by account, and gross and net profit, by month or quarter. Choose **Billed (Accrual)** (invoices by issue date) or **Collected (Cash-Based)** (payments by paid date).
- **Taxable sales:** taxed lines by month, one currency at a time (see *Taxable sales report*).

**Customers**

- **Revenue per customer** (app: **Revenue per client**): what each customer owes now and what they paid in the period.
- **Customer statement:** a running statement for one customer (see *Customer statements*).
- **Sales by customer:** total sales per customer, billed or collected.

### Dates and exports

- Set **From:** and **To:**. The website starts at the last month; the app starts at the beginning of the year. You can go back several years.
- **Website:** **Export CSV**, or **Print**, which downloads a PDF.
- **App:** **Export PDF** (share, download or print) or **Export CSV**.

### Good to know

- Drafts and void invoices aren't counted in Total invoiced.
- In Total invoiced, **Last invoice date** is when the customer's newest invoice was created, drafts included. It doesn't follow your dates.
- Reports work best when each customer is billed in one currency. Totals are shown per currency.

### FAQ

**I want last year's numbers.** Set **From:** and **To:** to last year.

**The dashboard and a report show different totals.** They measure different things. "You're owed" on the dashboard is what's still unpaid; reports cover invoices or payments in the dates you pick.

**Sales by customer shows the same totals for any dates.** Use **Total invoiced** for a date range.

**Can I see only cash payments?** Go to **Transactions** → **Payments** and filter by **Payment method**.
