Archive and restore customers
You can't delete a customer in InvoiceQuick. You archive them instead. Archived customers disappear from your lists, but all their invoices and history stay, and you can bring them back at any time.
Archive a customer
Website:
- Go to Customers.
- Click Archive on the customer's row, or open the customer and click Archive.
- Confirm.
To archive several, tick them and click Archive.
App:
- Open Customers.
- Hold the customer's row and tap Archive, or open the customer and tap ⋮ → Archive customer.
- Confirm.
Restore a customer
- Website: on Customers, filter by Archived → Only archived, then click Restore.
- App: tap the sort icon, choose Archived, then tap Restore on the row.
While a customer is archived
- Their invoices, estimates and payments stay in your records and reports.
- You can't create, edit, duplicate or convert their invoices or estimates. You'll see "This customer is archived. Restore the customer first, then try again."
- On the website you can't open their customer page until you restore them.
- Their recurring invoices, scheduled emails and reminders keep going. Pause or stop their recurring invoices (see Pause, re-activate or stop a recurring invoice) and check their reminders (see How invoice reminders work) before you archive.
- Their invoice links and customer dashboard still open for them.
FAQ
The website asked "Delete this customer?". Did I lose everything? No. That button archives the customer. Restore them any time.
How do I delete a customer for good? There's no permanent delete. Archive them and they're out of your way.
I need to fix an old invoice for an archived customer. Restore the customer, make your change, then archive them again.
