Edit a recurring invoice

Change what a recurring invoice bills, when it sends next, or who gets it.

Edit it

1. Web: Recurring invoices, open the row menu or preview, then Edit. App: hold the row, then Edit.
2. Change what you need:
   • lines, prices, discount, notes and terms
   • Payment due
   • When should we send the next invoice? (app: Next send date)
   • the frequency
3. Change recipients, subject or message under Edit email settings (app: Email settings).
4. Save. You'll see "Recurring invoice successfully updated." (app: "Recurring profile updated").

Your changes apply to the next invoice it creates. Invoices already created stay as they are. Edit those one by one if needed.

Change the next send date

Pick a new date under When should we send the next invoice?. If you change the frequency, InvoiceQuick suggests the next date for you. It's never before today.

Change how many invoices are left

To change the number of invoices, don't edit the existing count:

1. Duplicate the recurring invoice, or create a new one with the same details.
2. Set the new number under How many times should we send this invoice? and save.
3. Pause the old one.

Good to know

• If the customer is archived, restore them before editing.
• Changing your Recurring invoice email template doesn't update existing recurring invoices.
• When all its invoices are sent, it shows "All N invoices sent". To keep billing, duplicate it. Editing it doesn't start it again.
• Changes to its email settings apply from the next invoice it sends. An email already waiting to go out keeps the old settings.

FAQ

Can I change all my recurring invoices at once? No. There's no bulk edit for prices or payment terms on recurring invoices. Edit each one.

I changed a product's price. Will my recurring invoices use it? No. Each recurring invoice keeps its own lines. Update the price on each one.

Can I change the start date? Yes. Set When should we send the next invoice?. You don't need to recreate it.
