Invoice in another language

Send invoices and estimates with labels in your customer's language, such as "Facture" and "Total à payer".

Add a language (website)

  1. Go to Settings → Language.
  2. Choose a language under Select language and add it.
  3. Check the labels on the sample invoice and edit any you like. Each label can be up to 50 characters.
  4. Optionally tick Make this the default language when creating invoices.
  5. Save.

Labels cover the document, payment page, emails, receipts and estimate buttons. For about 90 languages, Reset to default brings back the built-in translation.

Languages are set up on the website. The app doesn't have this page yet.

Give a customer their language

Add or edit the customer on the website and choose Select default language. Their new invoices use it automatically.

Change it on one invoice

In the invoice editor, open the options and pick Invoice language (app: ••• → Invoice language).

Which language is used

A new invoice uses:

  1. the customer's language, if set
  2. otherwise your default language
  3. otherwise your standard labels

Duplicates, templates and converted estimates keep the original's language.

Good to know

  • Owners can preview an invoice in their own language with Show labels in my language.
  • The estimate editor also calls the option "Invoice language".
  • The customer's language can be seen in the app but changed only on the website.
